Short description of the Project:
The Project of the company Grafičar d.d. is aimed at increasing the productivity of the company by introducing energy-efficient solutions into its operations, as well as investing in the energy transition and further development of the company by increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of its operations.
The Project includes the following activities:
- Investment in renewable energy sources;
- Investment in energy-efficient tangible assets;
- Project management;
- Information and visibility.
The Project in question includes investment in the installation of additional solar electricity generation systems (photovoltaic power plant) and the purchase of more energy efficient machines in the production process: a flexographic printing machine, a machine for glueing foil to packaging and a glue machine for cardboard packaging.
The objectives and expected results are:
- Installation of photovoltaic systems with energy storage to reduce operating costs and improve energy efficiency using renewable energy;
- Introduction of environmentally friendly technologies that will reduce CO₂ emissions, support more sustainable use of resources and have a positive impact on the ecosystem;
- Contribution to climate change adaptation and pollution prevention and control.
By installing a photovoltaic power plant, Grafičar d.d. will reduce its dependence on external electricity suppliers for production and lower operating costs by increasing the use of self-generated energy.
Also, the implementation of this Project consequently reduces the levels of harmful greenhouse gas emissions, which directly contributes to the environmental objectives of the European Union – pollution control, environmental protection and adaptation to climate change.
The sustainability of the results will be ensured by the company Grafičar d.d. through:
- Increased energy and production efficiency by purchasing new machines and producing its own electricity – costs are reduced, productivity is increased and the production process is optimised;
- Long-term use of renewable energy sources with regular reduction of dependence on the external electricity distribution network;
- Planned and financially secured maintenance of equipment purchased and funded through the Project.
Total value of the Project and the amount co-financed by the EU:
Total value of the Project: €978,441.67
Total eligible costs: €963,441.67
The EU share in the financing of the Project: €326,673.75
Project implementation period:
01.08.2025 – 01.06.2026.
